Our Largest Sound Release Ever

New year, new sounds, you lazy bastards!

It was early Sunday morning at the start of 2025. Our boss was already ranting about us needing more sounds in the library.

Still half-asleep, we headed out. Some chased wild cats. Others captured a dog sled run using a full DPA rig. And one poor soul was left in the desert to record a pumpjack, and may never have returned.

After all that, we finally counted the files: 28028 sounds!

So even though we’re now as tired as zombies and running on what our boss insists is technically within the definition of coffee, we’re proud to present our biggest sound release yet: 28028 SOUNDS LATER.

Read about the new packs below.

Enter the pack’s hashtag in Soundly’s search to find all sounds. In newer Soundly versions, you can also click the package to open it directly in Soundly.

Getting through winter is rough for many of us, but activities like this make it a whole lot easier. We spent a few hours with a group of huskies, a sled, and some microphones, capturing some really wonderful sounds. They truly are known as man's best friend for a reason! #dogsled
Winter is finally over, and it's time to launch the boat for the season! And if you don't own a boat, you can listen to this sound pack and imagine that you own a boat and are cruising around at sea instead of sitting in a dark, sweaty studio trying to meet a deadline. #motorboats
The "We have Indiana Jones at home"-library is finally here! But seriously, this is as close as you can get to the real thing. Our whip artist, Klaus, was trained by the same guy who taught Harrison Ford how to use a whip. True story. #bullwhip
WARNING! Shockingly aggressive electrical sounds inside. Beams, arcs, zaps, sparks, blasts, surges, charges, and more to fulfill your extreme electrical sonic needs. #electricshock
Over 100 new exclusive recordings of wild cats, including lions, tigers, leopards, and pumas. You'll find roaring, growling, snarling, breathing, and other animalistic sounds. Perfect for realistic sound design and as a foundation for fantasy creatures! #wildcats
Enough is enough! We didn't have enough motherf*cking snakes in our motherf*cking library! Everybody strap in! Because we have designed plenty of new hissing, slithering, and rattling snakes. Samuel L. Jackson would hate this. #designedsnakes
A massive update to our library of footsteps! All the common surfaces with the most common shoe types, plus barefoot and socks. Each set is consistently recorded, edited, and named for each shoe and surface. Includes close and distant perspectives, plus matching layers of grit and creaks. #footsteps
Cutting convincing footsteps is tough without the zuzzes and swishes of clothing. This collection features the most common fabrics and clothing types—consistently recorded, edited, and named—captured from close and distant perspectives to perfectly complement our new footsteps library. #clothmovement
Every breath you take, we will not be watching, but we have a fair share of new breaths available for you to use in your scenes (or weird personal projects): sighs, exasperated breaths, sniveling breaths, moans of pleasure, and exhausted groans. Breathe in, breathe out. #breathing
A pumpjack is the overground drive for a reciprocating piston pump in an oil well. In other words, a machine that pumps oil and makes awesome sounds while doing it. You'll find squeaks, rattles, hums, and other mechanical sounds perfect for machinery and industrial sound design. #pumpjacks
A bustling Venice captured in pristine quality. Hear the sounds of the cafés, the marketplaces, the narrow calli, canal boats, gondolas, birdsong, and everyday life in La Serenissima. Arrivederci! #venice
Do you ever miss that one holiday to France with a certain someone? These sounds won't rekindle your relationship, but they will take you back to Paris so you can relive the long lines of all the romantic tourist spots you visited. #parlerfrances
Vacation as a Soundly employee means bringing recording equipment on the trip and capturing new sounds for the library so everyone can hear what a fantastic time you had. This time, you can listen to a snippet of 5 weeks in the cacophony of the Dominican Republic. ¿Que lo que? Dale, dale, dale! #dominicanrepublic
While the world is going up in flames with global warming, wars, and recessions, some people prepare by making vast bunkers. We prepare by recording and designing audio (of desolate, abandoned, and ruined places, just like our future holds). #abandonedplaces
The Norwegian film industry seems to never run out of ideas for WW2-centered movies and series. As a Norwegian company with close ties to the Norwegian film industry, we must keep them happy, so here is a collection of authentic WW2 weapon mechanisms. #ww2weaponmech
We take toys very seriously, as proven by this library covering various plastic toy guns as if they were real weapons. You'll find complete coverage from handling to reloads, cocking, firing, dry fires, etc. These sounds are also great for various plasticky designs. #toyguns
Just cars... and tires... on gravel roads. It's nothing fancy, but it is the textural sounds you often need for your car scenes. Interiors, close-ups, pass-bys, approaches, and departures. #carsongravel
Need something extra for your "lo-fi hip hop to chill and study"-songs? Here's a full workup of the classic Tascam Portastudio tape recorder that can take your generic lo-fi beats to the next level. They also work great for sound design. #tascamtaperecorder
When the Soundly office gets a new coffee machine, you get the most detailed recordings of a Jura coffee machine available: every perspective, every angle, and every microphone you can imagine. #coffeemachine
If you frown upon coffee machines and prefer to grind your beans by hand, we also have that covered with this small wooden hand coffee grinder library. (You snob!) #handcoffeegrinder
