New Soundly: Get to the Good Stuff, Faster Than Ever

Many of our files—like footsteps, sword clashes, and foley sessions—contain multiple sounds within a single file. That’s great for options, but selecting the exact variation within the waveform can feel sloooow. And we want Soundly to be fast, easy, and fun!

The new Segments feature in Soundly takes you straight to the good stuff in no-time, using regions that highlight each variation within a sound.

We tried using AI to add these regions, but that was about as successful as asking a cat to DJ. So, we found two sound designers crazy and brave enough to tackle the task, which you can see in our new film.

And while our Segment Heroes were so obsessed segmenting sounds they began to wonder if footsteps have feelings, we kept adding more features to Soundly, which you can read about below.

More Soundly Features

Easily save and restore groups of tabs.

See and edit cue markers directly in Soundly.

Each tab now has its own sidebar. You can set unique library searches for each tab. For instance, one tab can search the Soundly Pro Library, while another can search your local library.

You can now adjust the size of the search bar for easier use. Right-click the search bar and select the larger size to make it more visible and comfortable to type in.

Starred files now appear at the top of your search results, making it quicker to access your favorite sounds.

We have reduced the chance of accidental selections, making it easier to choose the exact part you need precisely.
