We Bought a Time Machine on TEMU

Some suggested we use it to rewrite history, like recording the sounds of taking out Hitler. But honestly, we already have enough gunshots and German shouting in our library.

So instead, we crammed some nameless Soundly interns into the machine, cranked the dial to year 1337, hit record, and let fate sort it out.

Did the interns return? Absolutely not, but the sounds and the TEMU Time Machine made it, which you can see in our new film 🎉🥳

And don’t worry, we already have some fresh candidates for our next time-traveling disaster!

Leave a comment on YouTube to let us know where (and when) we should go next. And check out our 100% real sounds from the medieval era below.

We time-traveled to medieval times to capture sounds of real knights in action. 100% authentic, but maybe not 100% ethical since one of our sound recordists never made it back home... totally worth it though! #armor
Swords, spears, maces, axes, and other classic medieval handheld weapons you really don’t want to be poked with from the back. Luckily there are a few shields to protect yourself with as well. #meleecombat
Want to join the fight but struggling with social anxiety? Take part from a distance! Bows, crossbows, and plenty of arrow pass-bys and impacts included. #archery
If you'd ever need to design your own arrow sounds, here is the material from our arrow recording session. Loads of whistling, whizzes, and bows at your service! #whistlingarrows
Lean back and immerse yourself in our time-travel adventures. This pack features everything from battlefields at sea to the loud burp-filled knights at the after-work-battle tavern. Cheers! #medievalbackgrounds
We think the sound of classic ballistas and catapults beats modern warfare tech any day of the week. From the rattling wood, to the stretching rope and the satisfying clacking of metal. This must be every sound designer's weapon of choice! #siege
