The New Soundly Version Makes Waiting for GTA 6 Less Boring!

November is usually the most boring month of the year. Our esteemed scientists found that switching windows and hunting through hour-long voice recordings for one line weren’t helping.

So, for the new Soundly, available today, we teamed up with Avid to put Soundly inside Pro Tools with the new Soundly Pro Tools Extension. The new speech transcription turns the hunt for that missing line into a simple text search. Direct cloud dragging, new integrations, and better export controls are also all designed to make sound design less boring and more fun!

So update today and make November a little less November. In two long weeks, most of you will be conducting extremely important “sound design research” in GTA 6 anyway.

New Soundly Features

Search, preview, and send sounds straight to your timeline without leaving Pro Tools. Sync sound segments to timeline markers, with automatic channel summing to match your tracks. Connect to the Soundly app to use your local files and Find Similar. Install today.

Turn speech in your recordings into searchable text. Install the Transcript extension to transcribe one or several files, then find the words you need and read the transcripts in Soundly’s side panel.

Send sounds directly to your project bin or timeline. Files are transferred with handles so you can select other parts of the file later. Requires DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 or newer.

Send sounds directly to your active QLab workspace as Audio Cues or Group Cues. Save files relative to your workspace folder to keep everything together. Available on macOS with QLab 5 or newer.

Use Soundly Connect to import sounds with custom options, create MetaSounds, and launch Find Similar from Unreal Engine for audio assets. Supports Unreal Engine 5.4, 5.5, and 5.6.

Explore Soundly’s sound packs in the new Collections view, including seasonal selections in Popular Now. Type # in the search bar to discover collection shortcuts and suggestions.

Preview and decode Ambisonics recordings directly in Soundly, and rotate the sound field before export. The updated M/S decoder gives you more control over width and mid/side balance. All Soundly Pro ambisonics files now live in the new Soundly Ambisonics Library for easy access, available for free in the Add-ons section.

Drag cloud files straight from Soundly’s file list into your project, just like local files. One less detour between finding a sound and putting it to work. Less boring, more fun!

Adjust LUFS gain and rename files with wildcards before exporting. Apply temporary export settings when you need something different for a single export.

Add your own markers to your own cloud files to flag useful moments. Copy a link to a time selection in a Soundly Pro file to reopen or share that exact section.
